Andrew Weatherall‘s empire of music.
Andrew Weatherall was born 1963, Windsor, England. He‘s a disc jockey, a remixer and a producer at the same time. Andrew Weatherall started his career in the world of music as a music journalist in the late 1980`s. His DJ career really started to take off when he met Danny Rampling. Danny invited him to play at his famous party Shoom. Then he began to remix famous bands like New Order, Björk, Happy Mondays or In The Nursery . Andrew Weatherall produced namely Primal Scream‘s famous record Screamadelica. Finally he formed two music projects: The Sabres of Paradise in 1993 (including Jagz Kooner and Gary Burns). The second project was Two Lone Swordsmen in 1996, including Keith Tenniswood.
In my following music post i will present my all time favourite Andrew Weatherall remix.

Shop Now!
I duly believe there is no need to introduce the fantastic TASCHEN publishing house or their popular series of architecture now! Books. However, being the total and utter retail space nerd who gets excited about literally anything that has something to do with great design and the aim to create superior shopping or (as in my case) browsing experiences, I was particularly enticed by encountering the latest addition to the series called Shopping Architecture Now! During my last visit to the Cologne flagship store. I reckon I spend at least as much time exploring exciting shops when on a city trip as in museums and actually, to me a superior retail space somewhat resembles a sort of gallery displaying the wares on sale. As we all seem to increasingly move our lifes and with that our purchases towards the virtual world, I think that there is nothing that ever comes close to real-life shopping.
The book features a careful selection of the latest retail spaces located all over the world ranging from extraordinary newsstands over flagship stores to giant shopping centres. It also introduces the responsible architects amongst which you'll find creative heavyweights such as Zaha Hadid or Rem Koolhas.

IN FLUX
Well, dear readers, you might have noticed a few little changes on the blog lately. And yes, i have decided to take things a bit more seriously and sort of get my act together... My blog has been lurking around the web for a while but it never really had taken on any direction or specific aim. This is about to change, gradually maybe, but definitely so.
First change is the fact that it is not my blog anymore. Julian has joined the team and together we will take this project on to some new and exciting endeavours.
Second change is that there is no more sister speed (though i still love that song very much) and thus the new title of the blog is IN FLUX - influxus.blogspot.com.
A further description of the motives behind that name is soon to be found in the about section.
Until then i leave you with this wonderful tune by "Sad Lovers And Giants".
Stay tuned!

Henrik Vibskov and his "100 days" store: The future of retail?
Henrik Vibskovs is a young and high talented fashion designer from Copenhagen, Denmark. I will present his new "100 days" retail concept. It‘s the matter of pop-up stores in several cities all over the world. The stores will open just for 100 days per season, per city. Each store will be a reflection of Vibskov’s “current show and theme of the collections”. The first stop is Amsterdam and then the concept will travel around the major European capitals.

I heart this.
Just came across these images from the SS11 collection of Dr. Martens on stylebubble. And i must say: This is a love that will last for many more days and nights to come. Currently i am living in my patent black DM boots stomping around in the melty white pre-christmas haze. They are the perfect winter foot attire, since they keep yer feet warm and dry plus you don't have to miss out on a bit of good old shininess. Anyway, for spring i think i may fancy one of two pairs of the classic 1461 lace-ups. Rolled up pants, here i come.

The myth.
During my last stay in London some rather magical things happened in the life of a beloved friend. We have come to the conclusion to blame it all on a certain golden bunny ring purchased at a summery warm sunday in october at the saatchi gallery shop in chelsea. Fate had its way with it by being left behind at the lavatories of the wonderful albion café at the boundary hotel in shoreditch only one day later. anyway, the story has had a good ending nevertheless.
Now, as an early christmas pressie i have received my own ring, the silver version as pictured and i truly do hope it will bring a comparable amount of good things to my life. Well, it is called bright eyes for a reason, i suppose. it is just a bit of a shame i have not yet worn it due to the extreme cold causing my fingers to resemble purple, swollen sausages (ewww).

Therefore they mix curious japanese brands namely Sasquatch and Unused with established brands like Rick Owens, Ann Demeulemeester or Raf Simons. My top two of female vocalists.
Alison Statton is one of the best female lead singer as well. Weekend was an immediate off-shoot of Young Marble Giants , the post-punk band known for their famous LP, Colossal Youth. Songwriter and guitarist Stuart Moxham formed the Gist, while singer Alison Statton formed the lovely band Weekend with Simon Booth. You will find the song nostalgia on their album "La Varieté" (1982).
My top two of female vocalists.
In the following music posts i will present the top two of my favourite female vocalists. One of the best female voacalists is Susan Janet Ballion and her band "Siouxsie And The Banshees". The british post punk band formed in 1976 by Susan Janet Ballion and Steven Severin. In my opinion "Red Over White" is their best song. You will find the song on their "The Thorn EP".
